H1Z1 is solid in its own fashion, though yea, it could be tricky to make a new battle royale game that is as appealing, and its unsure what direction they would take to make it stand out and at the sametime not feel inferior to H1Z1. these things require a lot of testing, and PUBG has proven to be very solid in the gunplay besides graphics. I think it would be premature to announce a new battle royale game now if they are not ready to make it very marketable and be a strong competitor. Z1 Battle Royale is a Free to Play, fast-paced, action arcade, competitive Battle Royale. Like look how old chess is despite it being basically the same thing it was generations ago, and people still play it. and since covid hit, a lot of companies havent been the same and some things been pushed into 2023. In the meantime, think H1Z1 is still milking some money to them, so perhaps that could fund a new game. But now Daybreak’s posted a Steam letter updating players on the state of the game. some think maybe its really not next gen yet, and crossgen era is taking place, so since the games are still popular and used, there isnt much rush to start from scratch and make a new game that meets expectations. Z1 Battle Royale the PC game once known as H1Z1 has had a rough year or two, losing most of its playerbase, suffering a leadership reshuffle and layoffs, being sent back to Daybreak from NantG, and closing down some of its servers and events. If Daybreak has yet to release a successor to H1Z1 multiplatform, they either are still R&D or investing less and maybe starting small with a project on PC. even capcom overlaps street fighter games the same generation, they resold classic games in anniversary collection, Ultra SFIV on PS4 despite promoting SFV, and now SF6 is coming to PS4 too. they are also running PlanetSide2 (which is still more popular), so they could release another battle royale game if they want. Who says they would make a replacement for H1Z1? and even if they do, if it doesn't come to PS4, PS4 players would still play H1Z1.
